Hi, I'm Franek 👋

I'm a 15yo builder and ML enthusiast experimenting and building with a fundamental goal of solving important problems.
Franek Mirkowski
Live in the future and build what's missing. I truly think that the best ideas and problems can be noticed on the edges, frontiers of certain fields, where a deep, unrestricted understanding of what's currently possible allows them to be noticed. Right now, I'm diving deep into the indie maker and research space. I love the process of creating and contributing to products that people want and need, especially during hackathons. The intensity of work, having to prioritize, pivot, and navigate through chaos and lack of sleep to build a prototype in such a short time really drives me forward.
Outside of tech, I'm into trail running - recently completed 26km & 23km (winter) races in the Bieszczady Mountains. I also do wrestling and BJJ when I can.

Products

SightVoiceApp

A mobile app that makes traveling and sightseeing more accessible, engaging, and tailored to individual interests, that actually works. I presented it at one of the largest ML conferences in Poland - MLinPL for the Finals of the ElevenLabs AI Audio Challenge. Developed with a team of 4 friends from the Olympiad.

sciPar

A platform to make discovering and implementing research more accessible for business professionals. It helps save time by enabling natural language expressions of their needs and problems and matching based on that also providing non-technical summaries adapted to query.

First Poland's AI Olympiad

As a Finalist of the Poland's AI Olympiad organized by several of the top Polish universities, I was among the top 30 contestants in the first stage of the Olympiad, which was open to all high school students in Poland. This competition kickstarted my journey in the field, and I met many great people at the bootcamp. During the event, we attended advanced classes on modern techniques in deep learning, conducted by both academia and industry experts.

Research & Experiments

Some of my latest experiments and workshop work.

Speculative Editing In Progress

Currently working on a new LLM inference acceleration technique for rewriting and modifying called Specuclative Editing, a simple variant of Speculative Decoding While doing my interview task from Cursor I noticed there is very little documentation about this technique, despite it giving very good results on code rewriting speed tasks. Work in progress, you can see it on my Github:

molecular-machine-learning

Worked on molecular ML tasks, like Classification of certain proteins responsible for Alzheimer's disease or predicting protein behaviour. It was a really new and abstract field for me, tho I found it pretty interesting.
